MM&D - Playtest Build #2
We've just pushed the second playtest build!
This one has 15 levels, introducing water and lasers. Repulsion beams and switches/pressure pads will come later, but as the puzzles involving these mechanics are quite a bit more complex, it'll be a bit longer before we see them in a playtest build.
The bounce-line in #4 has been extended by one tile to reinforce how line creation works (bounces are high enough to be lethal, so the player can create a line of corpse-blocks by bouncing down the line repeatedly). Smooth tiles are now a brighter white colour.
We've replaced levels 5 and 8 completely, as they had significant visibility issues. 08_Med_WP_Riverside serves to introduce water, and is quite similar to #7 to show how the player can push a block into water to get behind the other block. There is a minor visibility issue here that I'm not wild about, but can't figure out a good way to solve as yet.
The #5 spot (05_Med_B_Exam) is a tough one, as it's both the first 'puzzle' and the capstone that should reinforce all the basics of movement, death and bouncing that the Intro_Basics and Edu_Basics levels have taught the player. We'll see how players go on this new puzzle—it may be a bit complex, we'll have to see what problems it causes.
